Leather surfaces, whether natural or synthetic leather, are often stressed. The combination of sand, salt and strong sunlight gives all surfaces a good load, and the leather ones are no exception. Leather surfaces are often abraded, cracked, discolored, or soiled from food and drink. Nano Protect Leather BOAT is a specially developed polish for skin protection, resistant to mechanical damage and at the same time with antibacterial effect. The composition of the product provides smoothing of the surface, greater abrasion resistance and protection against UV radiation, which, among other things, causes changes of color. The treated surface is much more resistant to normal wear and tear, caused for example by sitting and subsequent friction when moving people on the seat. The product deeply nourishes, softens and gives it the necessary luxury effect. It creates a kind of membrane on the surface, which does not let water droplets penetrate into itself, but on the contrary lets out many times smaller particles of steam or water-saturated air. The leather is so-called "breathing". It does not make the matte leather shiny, it only underlines its matte and the material is more nourished in appearance and touch.
The surface membrane contains nanoparticles that are deposited in the rough structure of the skin just below the surface. The whole system is thus strengthened and lasts much longer than after treatment with common agents based on various waxes and oils. The product contains emollient and nourishing ingredients, including vitamins, which thanks to the membrane are almost impermeable and the skin is nourished for a very long time. At the same time, it is less soiled, better cleaned and does not spread various fungi and bacterial cultures on its surface. Always apply to absolutely clean surfaces free of grease.
Package Contents and Consumption
The package is enough for you up to 12 m2, the price for 1 m2 is 3,4 EUR/ m2. The package contains 50 ml of Nano Protect Leather BOAT. Usually one layer is enough, exceptionally we recommend applying a second layer after the water repellency test, if it does not prove to be 100%. (Consumption is given for one layer, for the other layer the consumption is lower). If you would be interested in buying in bulk, write to us at cooperation@pikatec.cz
Salt water vs. Fresh water
All Pikatec productsare adapted for extreme and demanding environments of marine conditions (salt water). Therefore, the protection is sufficient even for salt water. The only exceptions are polishes intended for the part of the ship below the waterline, where the difference between use in salt water and fresh water is described more directly in this protection, which we call the protection of Antifouling. The key is not to confuse Home products with Boat products. Household products are not built for such extreme conditions and their functionality could be limited, so there is also a price difference depending on the higher concentration of nanoparticles and active ingredients.
Application of nanocosmetics
The application of the products is not complicated at all. There are only 4 steps to follow. The surface must first be thoroughly cleaned and degreased. Then apply a protective polish, leave on for an hour and a half ( or you can even longer) and then wipe the treated area with a microfiber cloth. Always read the current instructions of use.
Surface preparation
Follow these step for cleaning: First, remove all dirt and stains from the surface. The PIKATEC deep cleaner is ideal for cleaning dirty or faded surfaces (especially suitable for removing specific stains or "eaten" dirt), or PIKATEC leather cleaner (it is softer and we recommend it for general cleaning), after spraying let it work for a while, then wipe with a microfiber cloth or a soft brush. Then degrease the surface with our degreaser. For new boats, we recommend only degreasing the surface before application, with our degreaser. You can apply a protective polish directly to the surface prepared in this way, please follow the instructions below. It is important to realize that our cleaners are designed to clean well, but do not damage the surface of the skin, because some products damage the skin surface during cleaning and thus weaken it.
Maintenance of surfaces after application
Surfaces treated with Pikatec nanocosmetics are smoother, much more resistant to damage and only water and a microfiber cloth are sufficient for their maintenance. Wipe off any dirt lightly with it, the treated surfaces will always look like new. If the surface remains greasy even after wiping with a cloth, we recommend degreasing it once in a while with our degreaser, so the hydrophobic effect will be restored and the surface will be less dirty again. If there is more dirt or pushing dirt into the skin, use the PIKATEC deep cleaner. If a degreaser or deep cleaner is used, we recommend re-applying the impregnation with our protection. (This only applies to textile and leather surfaces; for others, you will not remove them with standard cleaning chemicals.)
Application of protective polishes
We always apply the product on a properly prepared surface. Cleaned, degreased and dried. Check the material for traces of water droplets or other stains. These need to be removed before application, otherwise you could "preserve" them in the protective layer and it would be very difficult to get rid of them afterwards.
In order to dissolve and properly mix all additives, vitamins and nanoparticles, it is necessary to heat the product by placing the bottle in a water bath at a temperature of about 40-50 ° C. After about 3-5 minutes, remove the bottle and shake well. We check the consistency (it must be liquid) and if everything is in order, we can start applying. If the polish is still too stiff, put the bottle in the water bath again until the polish liquefies. The application is carried out in small quantities using a clean cloth or a two-layer sponge, with which the product is lightly spread evenly to "stick" into the leather. In the case of perforated leather (with small holes), apply a small amount of the product to the cloth, spread it on a smooth surface so that the product "lightly" sticks into the cloth and only then spread on the perforated skin. The product does not flow into the holes and does not stick to them. After grinding, leave on for about 90 minutes or more, then polish with a soft, preferably microfiber cloth. The cloth must be clean and dry. It is true that the longer we let the polish work, the better it soaks into the skin.
Before applying the second layer (recommended for old or dry skin), the first layer must dry on the surface and must not stick to the touch. Always apply the second layer and spread very gently to avoid damaging the previous layer, or apply it after a few hours. The second layer must also be polished. The last phase is polymerization, when Nano Protect Leather BOAT hardens approximately 12 hours after grinding the final layer and has the final strength and flexibility.
